Cookie Policy
Last updated June 17, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Jonathan Press (doing business as LawnSeedPicker) ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on lawnseedpicker.com (the "Services"). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. Similar technologies — including web beacons and pixels — perform comparable functions. In this policy we refer to all of these as "cookies."
What cookies do we use?
LawnSeedPicker is designed to collect as little information as possible. The seed-recommendation tool itself works in your browser and needs only a zip code, which is not stored by us.
The cookies and similar technologies on our Services fall into these categories:
- Essential / functional. Some technologies are necessary for the website to operate securely and correctly — for example, to maintain security, prevent crashes, fix bugs, and support basic site functions. These are always active when you use the site.
- Analytics. We may use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, how people arrive, and which features are useful — so we can improve the Services. These technologies collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. To opt out of Google Analytics across websites, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Third-party / affiliate links. When you click a link to a seed retailer, that retailer or an affiliate network may set their own cookies to attribute the visit. Those cookies are controlled by the third party under their own policies, not by us. See our affiliate disclosure for more.
We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal information, and we do not sell your personal information.
How can you control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. Most web browsers accept cookies by default, but you can usually set your browser to remove or reject cookies through its settings. If you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect certain features of our Services.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new technologies such as analytics. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
